Artist Statement
I enjoyed taking these photos, and thought they turned out the best. For the background, I used a black cloth draped over the table and a chair to ensure the entire background was covered. I think the beads with the mask make it very colorful, and it stands out against the dark background. I like the ones where the beads are draped over the mask the best, as it creates a sense of unity to the picture. When editing, I made sure to adjust the brightness, hue, saturation and curves to make sure the picture looked the best. Then, I played around with the artistic filters to find one that I liked the best, and then adjusted the image one more time to make sure it looked the best it could. This photo does not mean much to me, as it is a still life, and I wanted it to be aesthetically pleasing. This to me represents beauty and femininity. The black background contrasts with the mask very well, and creates a very powerful image. The filters add to this, making each photo different, and helps the photo stand out.
